Who we are

An initiative from apidays, Women In APIs (WIAs) is a truly global tech community.

Our members number over 1000 women—and their allies—based in more than 60 countries.

Through our international program of events and professional development activities, we provide practical and accessible ways for people to take that next step with speaking up and speaking out. We give our allies ways and connections to help others take their own next step.

To share their expertise, talent and success—and those of their teams and the organisations they work with—in forums where they will get recognised and rewarded.

Our networking and training events connect mid- to senior-level technologists with connections, speaking or writing opportunities, and career advice. We encourage people to expand their participation in tech conferences. We grow their confidence with social media. We give them the courage to put their hand up for new ways to be seen and heard.

Women In APIs is growing the pipeline of people ready to speak openly on API-related topics.  At conferences, at meet-ups, and at their workplace.  

Greater recognition of their talent (and that of their teams) encourages them to stay, and motivate others to join and stay, in the wider tech industry.

Ultimately we are striving towards better balance in the tech industry at large.
